O’s Notes: This is the latest release from the venerable Heath Brothers and their first since the death of Percy in 2005. Jimmy (sax) and Albert ‘Tootie’ (d) persist with Endurance. They partner with David Wong (b) and Jeb Patton (p) playing a program of swinging modern jazz. Jimmy wrote seven of the nine selections with one from Patton and a very good cover of “Autumn in New York” to round out the set. Jimmy retains his sweet sax tone on “Ballad from Leadership Suite”. We also liked “Dusk In The City” and “Two Tees”, a showcase for Tootie. The legacy continues with strong support from Jeb and David.
