O’s Notes: Guitarist David Gilmore teams up with Marcus Strickland (sax, cl), Luis Perdomo (p), Antonio Sanchez (d) and Ben Williams (b) for Energies of Change, his latest release. That is a powerful lineup and they deliver a stellar performance. Gilmore composed 7 of the 9 selections including “Dance of Duality” featuring Kofo Wanda on the talking drum. There is an earthy Afro-Latin vibe that lies in the foundation of each song that keeps things lively. Gilmore continues to impress us with another impressive engagement.
