O’s Notes: Breyer-Grell follows up her Grammy winner 2004 vocal taking her turn arranging and singing Gershwin. Her band is a very good trio with Matt Wilson (d), Dean Johnson (b) and Gloria Cooper on the ivory. We liked “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, ” Love Walked In” and “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off”. John Hart (g), Jim Rotundi (t), Kahill Kwame Bell (perc) and Don Braden (sax) are featured musicians who step into the mix with fine solos. Hart is impressive with a strong presence on a good session.
