O’s Notes: Producer Jack Cortner has assembled a fine group of musicians to make the New York Big Band with trumpeter Marvin Stamm as the featured artist. Jack and Marvin have a strong friendship with many years working together. The results are eleven crisp tunes that have just the right amount of pop and zing. Cortner established himself as a premier writer of jingles and TV tunes. His ability to embrace the listener and set the mood is remarkable. While this release is over 18 months old, we still recommend it and still enjoy listening.
