O’s Notes: This is a live trio set featuring drummer Jimmy Cobb with Yasushi Nakamura on bass and leader pianist Emmet Cohen. Saxophonist Godwin Louis makes a strong statement on “Folk Song” and Cobb adds an electrifying solo on “If This Isn’t Love”. These are just a couple of highlights in the spirited session. Cohen’s intent is to preserve jazz with his recordings. With the first volume of his Master Legacy Series, he not only preserves the art form but also introduces it to new fans with an abundance of engaging energy and pizazz!
