O’s Notes: Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist Ben Zucker focuses on the vibraphone for his debut recording. He invites pianist Mabel Kwan, bassist Eli Namay and drummer Adam Shead to join him for Fifth Season. We liked the mysteriousness on the first movement of the 4-part title track best. Zucker’s vibes set the pace all the way through with his accompaniment supporting his experimental theme.
