O’s Notes: Mc Guinness plays trombone and leads this big band. He composed and arranged (there are 3 covers) all of the songs and also sings on “Smile” and “A Fond Farewell” with scatting that parallels the sound from his horn. The music is easy listening and fine for many occasions. Soloists include pianist Mike Hobbler, Dave Pietro (as), Bill Mobley (t) and Jason Rigby (ts). We enjoyed the warm tones from Pete’s trombone particularly on “Infant Eyes” and the mild Brazilian feel of “Comear De Novo”. The tempo accelerates on “Chase Scene” and “The Trucksters” but this is mostly soothing, satisfying music.
