O’s Notes: Sidney is a fresh voice on the jazz scene and his scats, chants and rich vocals are welcomed indeed. He has a wide range and tonal accuracy that commands your attention.“First Man“is his second release including five originals in the twelve selections. He’s a jazz singer that is equally at home with the American songbooks, soul and R&B. He does justice to “Lonely Town, Lonely Street”, “The Good Life”“and “My Favorite Things” casting them in his own light. We also enjoyed “Last Night” and the title track. He was inspired by the late Al Jarreau but has his own signature, one that suggests he’ll be pleasing us for many years!
