O’s Notes: Jazz Trumpeter, composer, and educator Alex Norris leads a fine band including pianist Jeremy Manasia, bassist Paul Gill, drummer Brian Floody and Ari Ambrose on tenor sax for Fleet From The Heat. They get right down to business opening with the title track and never let up. Manasia’s work on piano is notable on tracks like “Holiday Blues” and “The Untamed Land” including a cool drum solo by Floody. Norris is steady across the session alone and in harmony with Ambrose. The heat is still on and it’s enjoyable!
