O’s Notes: Composer, guitarist Jim Witzel leads a quartet on his latest release,  Breaking Through Gently. This is a reunion for Jim and Phil Aaron (p) from their days in Los Angeles with the addition of Dan Feiszil (b), and Jason Lewis (d). The band gels over eight selections, originals by either Aaron or Witzel with a cover of “Old Friends”. “The Celebration”, “The Little Dragon”, and the title track are highlights.
