O’s Notes: The central theme of this album is Wayne Shorter’s compositions. Wayne led all of the songs and he is in good company. Miles Davis, Weather Report, Steely Dan and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers are among the musicians present on music. The music was recorded form 1960 to 2001. It parallels his biography with the same title. Wayne’s robust sax is already legendary but this collection helps us appreciate his writing skills and the versatility of his music.
