O’s Notes: Smooth sax veteran Walter Beasley does a nice job blending fast and slow beats on Free Your Mind. There are tunes to reflect on, dance to and for relaxing. Lynne Fiddmont adds soulful vocals on “Love Calls”. Randall Bowland (g) and Walter Barnes (b) make it funky enough that we tolerate the programmed drums on tunes like “Oh Yeah”. We also liked “Barack’s Groove”, “She Can’t Help It” and the African beats of “Duke Zillia”.
