O’s Notes: In the true spirit of ‘more is better’, guitarist/music director John Baboian assembles a band with four other guitarists: Larry Baione, Garrison Fewell, John Marasco and John Wilkins. Rich Greenbelt (vibes), Jerry Seeco (t, fl), Ron Mahdi (b) and Jon Hazilla (d) round out this bouncy bebop ensemble. They are upbeat and perky on “Salt Peanuts” and swinging on “Here’s That Rainy Day”. They also shine on the ballads like “Our Spanish Love Song”. They play a dozen tunes including four Baboian originals. The entire program has sizzle and of course, strong guitar presence, but not so much that you can’t enjoy the music.
