O’s Notes: Argentinean pianist Emilio Teubal leads a trio with Pablo Lanouguere and either Chris Michael or Brian Shankar Adler on drums. They expand to a quintet with Sam Sadigursky (cl) and Fede Diaz (g) on three selections notably “Tokyo Trenque”. We also enjoyed “Blackbird”, one of three songs featuring Chris Dingman on vibes. Teubal composed and arranged all the music for Futuro, a rather introspective set.
