Jazz Ruler Type: BigBand
O’s Notes: Bob combines the intimacy of a quartet with the power of a big band. Yet they manage to do so without blasting you into oblivion. They approach each song with care rather than the loose recklessness of some large ensembles. Bob also inserts flutes and clarinets in place of saxophones and uses muted brass elsewhere to soften the music. The intensity is there and we were able to turn up the volume and get a hair-raising rush. Each of the soloists has a great impact on Gently, a nice team effort.
