O’s Notes: We’re only a few bars into the opener “Lover Come Back To Me” when we appreciate Dane’s jovial approach. He’s a crooner singing America’s classic tunes including “Just Squeeze Me”, “Blame It On Youth”, Let’s Stay Together” and “Something To Live For”. His band is a strong octet that is very supportive and complimentary. Vannatter imparts his own style on each song while staying true to the original framework leading to an entertaining session.
