O’s Notes: It’s hard to find fault in a greatest hits Crusaders album. They were among the pioneers who crossbred jazz with soul and R&B in the 1970’s. With hits like “Street Life”, “Put It Where You Want It”, “Chain Reaction” and “Free as the Wind” they defined a musical art form that has a broad appeal and fresh sound through the decades. What is even more outstanding in today’s music scene is that these guy wrote their own music. So it’s easy to understand why live performances were an easy extension of their true feelings. Enjoy the Groove Crusade!
