O’s Notes: Norwegian pianist Helge Lien presents his 9th recording with his powerful trio including bassist Frode Berg and drummer Per Oddvar Johansen.“Guzuguzu“(moving slowly) is the latest offering, a collection of nine original compositions that are as soothing as Helge’s past works. The music is open and minimalistic drawing listeners into several cerebral moods. The titles are all different Japanese“onomatopoetic words meaning sound imitating words. It’s a creative approach that ultimately results in a tranquil session with the exception of “Chokichoki”, a more upbeat tune.
