O’s Notes: Drummer Stockton Helbing assembles a quartet with David Lown (sax), David Braid (p) and James Driscoll (b). Helbing wrote 7 songs. Braid wrote two with Lown and Driscoll each contributing an original. The music is highly syncopated jazz-fusion that has a lot of complexity. They do settle down on a few tracks notably “The Silent Watcher” featuring Lown. “Try Again” and “Handprints” are other standouts. Dig deep to enjoy it.
