O’s Notes: Happy Madness“is sweet, cabaret style singing featuring vocalist Rebecca DuMaine backed by her father, pianist Dave Miller and his trio. French vocals on “Samba Saravah” add another dimension to a cool set. The trio with drummer Bill Belasco and bassist Perry Thoorsell provides ample back up along with guest appearances by Brad Buethe (g) and Pete Cornell (sax) for a wealth of good solos surrounding Rebecca’s lyrics. We enjoyed “I’m Old Fashioned” and the take on “Spider Man” as well. It’s a pleasant session.
