O’s Notes: The time was 1970-71. The mood was blue. Some of the jazz community expressed themselves through their instruments and the tones and message of the lyrics. The words were pleas to wake up the listeners to what was happening in Harlem which could be applied to other places as well. Originally recorded as two albums, they are combined here as a complete story.there is anger, blues and realization of man’s place with nature.
