O’s Notes: Randy Weinstein is a top-notch chromatic harmonica player with a great sense of adventure. There is some serious, blues harmonica here, combining the music of Thelonius Monk with Chicago Blues. The peaceful blues of “Ruby My Dear” with guitarist Pete Smith complimenting Weinstein’s harmonica is magical. “Bye Yah”, “In Walked Bud” with Michaela Gomez (g), and “Straight, No Chaser” are other highlights.
