O’s Notes: Nina is a pure jazz singer who is not afraid to bend the notes, taking the liberty to express her self and put her foot into the music! She was a part of the Village jazz scene during the 1970s and 1980s. She had the good fortune to perform and learn from some of the best in the business. She returned to jazz several years ago after a detour into the medical arts. Welcome back! Sheldon also plays piano and exhibits great phrasing on “‘S Wonderful”. She gets support from John Menagon (b) and Bob Meyer (d). She adds a taste of Brazil on “Dindi” and “Insensatez”. The late “Fathead” Newman shows up on two tracks as well notably “I’m Just A Lucky So And So”. ‘Hats of to Sheldon on this release. She pushed the envelope and delivers the goods!
