O’s Notes: This is a unique approach to the overworked Holiday tunes. Corky plays the harp and piano leading a trio with Kirk Smith (b) and Tom Walsh (d, perc). They put a subtle Latin twist on “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”; add a calypso beat to “Dreidel Song”; and base “California Christmas” on mild country blues. We also enjoyed “White Christmas”. This is an appreciatively different and enjoyable approach to Christmas.
