O’s Notes: Swiss trombonist Benedetti, met Diana Krall in 1988. He was taken by her style and invited her to join his quartet. They did a tour and this recording in 1989 but it wasn’t released until discovered by TCB late in 2002. The results include many cool two part vocal harmonies between Diana and guitarist Martin Oster, some light bossa nova and blues. Benedetti wrote all of the lyrics and most of the music as well as contributing some excellent work on trombone. Our favorite tracks are “Detroit Blues” and “Evidence” with its cool funky beat.
