O’s Notes: John has a raspy voice that fits the character of the blues fusion he sings. The music has a slow, funky zydeco groove to it. But Martyn can also mellow out as he does on the title track. The man tells his stories, echoed by the background singers and beats that are in complete unison. Highlights are “Bad Company”, “Could’ve Told You Before I Met You” and “Colour”.
