O’s Notes: We enjoyed the energetic sound of the Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra on their last release“Live at Jazzaar Festival in Aarau, Switzerland April 2012“(4/3). They are back with a 2016 performance at the same venue titled“Heaven Help Us All. They stick with the same formula inviting polished guest artists into the mix. Oli Rockberger adds vocals and keyboards on “Ridiculous” and “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay”. Billy Cobham (d), Tony Lakatos (sax), Marques Young (tb), Frank Greene (t) and Neil Jason (b) are the special additions for this CD. Fritz Reynold is the musical director marrying the talents and he does it well. SYJO’s Sharon Reynold (b, vocals) does justice to “Street Life” and “Afro Blue”, just a couple of standouts along with “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy”.
