O’s Notes: This is a collection of ballads by many of the jazz greats including Mel Torme, Dinah Washington, Diane Schuur and Johnny Mercer. These are classic tunes, songs that Hef remembers as markers in his life and inspiration for what his vision of the world should be. There are both old and new and even combinations of both as on Schuur’s “Easy Living” with a digitally introduced solo from Stan Getz.
