O’s Notes: This quintet is packed with energy. Mike Mainieri (vibes), Elaine Elias (p), Bob Berg (sax), Marc Johnson (b) and Peter Erskine (d) performed this session live in Europe during 1999. These 10 songs (on two discs) are well developed, generally in excess of 10 minutes, allowing for full development of solos and improvisation. It is fresh, creative and cool.
