O’s Notes: The Horizons Quartet is a collaboration between Dan Wilkins (sax) and James Collins (p) with Gene Perla (b) and Bryon Landham (d). They play original music composed by Wilkins inspired buy his passion for oil painting. Highlights are “Benediction of the Moon”, “Get The Point” and “Gala’s Blessing” with Wilkin’s warm sax. “Kindling Of The Phoenix” is a swinging finale that punctuates a fine set.
