O’s Notes: Rene’ has found her vocal signature after a 20 year hiatus. The passion she has for her work comes out clearly on this CD. She is energetic, warm, and personal on these dozen popular, jazzy standards. The backup band including pianist Mulgrew Miller, is very complimentary. She varies the landscape and injects a nice dose of soul.
