O’s Notes: Hugh is Kirk’s uncle and though you may not recall ever hearing about Peanuts, pop in this CD and relax for a while. Hugh plays sax, piano and sings. He has a wealth of depth great phrasing and presence. You can hear his influence on Kirk and his years of polish. There are enough goodies here to please everyone. Several Whalum generations come together on “The Real Three Tenors” with Hugh, Kirk and Kenneth III on tenor sax, Kevin singing and Kyle playing bass. It’s an entertaining session.
