O’s Notes: Laura presents a pleasant program of eleven ballads. They are all originals. It feels more like pop than jazz at times but never gimmicky. Laura’s cabaret style comes through with clear articulation. We liked “Spin I’m In” for the romantic lyrics, the harmonized background and the vibe solo from Chris Connor. It’s good music.
