O’s Notes: This is the soundtrack from the motion picture I Bring What I Love. Youssou is a Senegalese singer and percussionist and perhaps the most famous living African singer. The African beats are prominent with N’Dour singing lyrics in the native tongue. The movie is about the difficulties Youssou faced in Senegal after recording “Egypt”, a deeply spiritual album dedicated to a more tolerant view of Islam. It was an award waning film packed with emotion, as is the music.
