O’s Notes: Like many singers Chris sings great songs. But unlike many singers, she personalizes each and every one of them. Her style includes scatting and bending the melodies to suit her moods. It’s adventurous. Top shelf musicians like Paul Bollenbach (g), David Budway (p) and the steady bass of Ugonna Okegwo. There’s a mild bossa nova on “So In Love” and “Mon Cherie-Rosie”. By the time she gets to the 4th track, “Young and Foolish”, we really like McNulty’s phrasing, a lot. This one is worth a try!
