O’s Notes: Pianist Bazan’s trio includes Philippe Staehil (d) and Antoine Ogay (b); both accomplished on the European jazz scene. They’re playing mainstream jazz accented with guest appearances from George Robert (sax) and Phil Collins (vocals) on several songs. Songs like Bazan’s “Bassology” and “What Is This Thing Called Love” really swing. The energy of “Batteries Included” and soothing sax on “Moonlight In Vermont” add variety and make this a strong session.
