O’s Notes: Julia sings popular ballads. Her voice is beautiful and she embellishes the lyrics. She does, in fact speak French and sings a beautiful rendition of “La Vie En Rose”. Rich also sings six of her own compositions among the sixteen songs, a balanced mix of love songs with a generally upbeat mood. She takes us through a complete romance with “My First Love”, “Don’t Blame Me” and “I Know Why”. Tunes like “What A Difference A Day Makes” still ring strong. Julia takes her time with the lyrics allowing you to listen and absorb the meaning of the words.
