O’s Notes: Guitarist Ricardo Grilli leads a quintet with Christian Li (p), Gustavo D’Amico (sax), Jared Henderson (b) and Lee Fish (d). The music and production is all Ricardo. He expresses his thoughts and moods over his 4-year journey from Brazil to Boston to New York. A few highlights are the cool bluesy fusion on “Is It Really” and “Shift” balanced by the mellow “Revolver” and racy “Riga”. Grilli shares the spotlight with his band, all capable musicians who rise to the occasion each time making this a winning set.
