O’s Notes: Eliane combines her writing skills and prowess on piano with the powerful sound of The Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra (DRJO). The sound is large and brassy, the fusion of European, Brazilian and big band jazz. Bob Brookmeyer conducts and plays trombone alone with the very capable DRJO musicians. But when the dust settles for Elaine’s solos, there is an unmistakable jazz feel, a small ensemble backed by rich winds and brass where appropriate.
