O’s Notes: Jeff has been engaged in music from early age including exposure to some legendary jazz musicians courtesy of his dad’s jazz radio show. A lot of it stuck! Simpson now leads a band with established pros like trumpeter Marcus Printup, bassist Lincoln Goines and Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo. Jeff plays sax and flute. The music ranges from what he calls swunk, a blend of swing and funk to mellow sambas like “The Teacher”. Watch out for the radio friendly “Wake Up”, a sure hit on his debut.
