O’s Notes: Patrick plays alto sax in front of drummer Jeff Ballard, pianist Frank Kimbrough and Michael Janisch on bass. The music swings hard from the first notes of “Regent Street” with Cornelius and Nick Vayenas (tb) wrapping the brass around the tight groove of the rhythms section. We also enjoyed “Unfinished Business” and “Projection”. Michael Rodriguez (t) softens the mood on the title track and “Waiting”. All of the music was written and produced by Cornelius, a musician sure to be in the spotlight for a while.
