O’s Notes: Guitarist Alex Pinto leads a fusion-based quartet with Jon Armstrong, (sax), Jaz Sawyer (d), and Dave Tranchina (b). They perform seven original compositions with mostly dark tones. Alex and Jon tackle the lead line together on “Outted”, one of the best selections. We also liked “Do It Now” and the spirited beat of “Refresh”. Pinto’s debut shows promise!
