O’s Notes: Carol’s vocal tracks are well articulated, sung like poetry with dark tones over a narrow range. The band is good led by producer, arranger and guitarist Dom Minasi. Valery Ponomarev (t) and Ken Filiano (b) also make good contributions. The eleven songs combine Dom’s originals with covers of standards. It will appeal to select audiences.
