O’s Notes: Isis & Osiris is music based on the Austrian resurrection. It is free jazz that includes dramatic and chaotic emotions in the Kemetic divine community. There is a great deal of creativity and a powerful expressive by saxophonist Edwin Bayard on “Resurrection” and powerful drum work by the leader Mark Lomax on “Isis”. Bassist Dean Hulett keeps the trio connected with a steady, driving rhythmic groove. The collection of ten songs is exactly what Lomax intended, a strong sample of Greco-Roman history spelled out in music.
