O’s Notes: Abbey is a living legend, a jazz singer with a unique signature who has paid her dues many times and delighted many audiences worldwide. For this session she gathered a stellar band including Kenny Barron (p), Ray Drummond (b) and a full string orchestra! Together, they perform newly arranged jazz classics, blues, gospel and several of Lincoln’s originals. Among the best are “They Call It Jazz”, “Yellow Bird”, “Runnin’ Wild” and “Can You Dig It”.
