O’s Notes: It’s tough to go wrong with legends. In addition to the two headliners, Barney Kessel (g), Ray Brown (b), J.C. Heard (d) and Lester Young (sax) are on the bandstand. They perform thirteen classics including “Lady Be Good”, “St. Louis Blues”, “Lester Leaps In” and “The Man I Love”. Swiss Radio recorded this session in 1953 and it is indeed memorable.
