O’s Notes: Krebs has been fascinated by the musical splendor of birds chirping since she was a child. This concert recording is focused on those sounds. And Susan can soar as we heard clearly on “Bird Alone”, one of many of the sixteen that exposes the beauty of her voice. She’s complemented by a fine band including Rob Lockart (sax, fl), Rich Eames (p), Jerry Kalaf (dm vibes) and Riner Scivally (g). We liked her passionate pleas on “Baltimore Oriole”, “Skylark” and the simple elegance of “Blackbird” among many strong songs. It is a great concept executes flawlessly!
