O’s Notes: Ann has a large voice that sounds good on everything she touches. Her range, power and inflection pairs well with her musicians and the music on“Jazz Goes to the Movies. Ted Rosenthal (p), Martin Wind (b), Jimmy Greene (sax) and Tim Horner (d) provide excellent accompaniment for these cinema classics from 1927 to 1962. Among the best are “From This Moment On”, “The Nearness of You”, “Just One of Those Things” and “Taking A Chance On Love”.
