O’s Notes: Monte opens with a bubbly rendition of “My Little Suede Shoes” followed by Sidran with three mellow contemporary vocals and a very passionate “Parker’s Mood” led by Frank Morgan (sax). Charlie Byrd swings on a couple of tunes, notable “Orpheus Samba” and Carmen McRae wraps up the set with a few ballads including bossa nova beats on “Upside Down” and a warm “Dindi”.
