O’s Notes: Kat Walker has a deep sultry voice that she places on fourteen classics in New Orleans fashion. Dominick Grillo adds shadowing on sax that packs a punch notably on “Cry Me. A River” and “Bobbie McGee”. Producer Bart Ramsey plays the upright piano; Spike Perkins is on bass and Dennis O’Tool keep time. Kat stays within her vocal range. She sounds best on tunes like “Am I Blue” and “Mack The Knife”. This is music that gives you a taste of what you can hear in the French Quarter.
